The Toki Mats Play Mirror has quickly become one of our favorite tummy time tools.
As a nurse and mom of four, I’m always looking for simple ways to support early development — and mirrors are incredible for encouraging visual tracking, head lifting, and longer tummy time sessions. The mirror is perfect for tummy time and helps encourage head lifting, visual tracking, and self-recognition as babies grow. The bead side adds interest as little ones get older and begin to reach and grasp. The materials feel high quality and sturdy, and the design is clean and neutral, which pairs really well with play mats and modern home aesthetics. It comes fully assembled and is lightweight enough to move around easily.

As an infant developmental specialist, I am very selective about the "gear" I recommend to my parents. The Toki Kids Play Mirror has quickly become one of my top recommendations for supporting early milestones.
Why it stands out from a developmental perspective:
Many baby mirrors are warped or "fun-house" style, which can actually be confusing for a developing brain. This mirror is high-fidelity and shatterproof, allowing babies to truly focus on self-recognition and facial tracking.
The biggest hurdle with tummy time is keeping our baby engaged long enough to build neck and core strength. The angle and stability of this mirror are perfect for encouraging that "head lift" we look for.
I love the addition of the wooden abacus on the back. It transitions the toy from a visual tool to a fine-motor activity as the baby grows.
It is incredibly well-made. No cheap, neon plastic here—the needlewood is beautiful, sturdy, and non-toxic. It’s a piece of gear you won’t mind having in the middle of your living room floor.
