Our play mats consist of one fabric cover with two side zip openings, and two natural latex foam inserts.
Play mat covers: either 100% organic cotton, vegan leather, or a blend of bamboo jersey + organic cotton + spandex. The cotton covers are GOTS certified organic, and the vegan leather and bamboo jersey blend covers are OEKO-TEX certified.
Foam inserts: both foam insert options are 1” of 100% natural dunlop latex foam. The Classic is Oeko-Tex certified, and the Organic is GOLS certified.
The waterproof cover sets are optional, and come as a set of two zippered covers. The waterproof covers are 100% bamboo jersey fabric and Oeko-Tex certified.
The bottom of the outer cover is made with the same fabric as the top (either 100% cotton or vegan leather depending on mat type). Unlike the top, the bottom has a crease down the middle of the mat where the two foam pieces meet.
Latex foam is a natural foam rubber that's manufactured using sap from the rubber tree. It is 100% natural, non-toxic, untreated with flame retardants, anti-bacterial, self-ventilating, biodegradable, and non-allergenic. It is the perfect consistency for a soft but firm play surface. Because our latex foam is made without any synthetic chemicals, the final product often has slight variations in appearance that do not affect quality, performance, or durability in any way. It is common for small tears and bubbles to form during the baking process, and any discolorations you may notice are the residuals of burnt latex sap. These imperfections are the natural result of clean manufacturing, and are undetectable once the foam is inserted into the play mat cover.
Though the materials are safe, this specific product is not intended for sleep. The mats are 100% breathable and self-ventilating, but they have not been treated with flame retardants as required by sleep products. As a reminder, if your child does take a nap, you should not leave your child alone sleeping on the mats.
Cotton mat cover: To wash, unzip the cover on the sides and remove the foam inserts. Machine wash cold with mild detergent using a gentle cycle. If your cover was loose with room to shrink, feel free to dry with low heat. Once shrunken, it will stretch out with play for the perfectly snug fit. If your cover already fits the foam nicely, please hang-dry or tumble dry using no heat. Do not use fabric softener or chlorine bleach.
Vegan leather cover: Our Everywhere mats can be wiped clean with any chemical-free cleaner.
Foam inserts: Natural latex foam is not water resistant. Please do not attempt to wash them, but instead spot clean with mild soap and water. We also offer add-on waterproof cover sets to help preserve against spills. In the case that you need a foam replacement, please check our product listings. Our standard mat measures around 20 x 20 x 6 when folded, our mega mat measures around 30 x 20 x 6 when folded, and the epic mat measures around 36 x 20 x 12 when folded.
Our standard mat weighs around 9 lbs, our mega mat weighs around 18 lbs, and our epic mat weighs around 24 lbs.
Some of our organic cotton covers are lined to prevent the latex foam from showing through the fabric.
